Eric was able to do a two week elective with a doctor on the island over Easter. We counted down the days until we would leave...the kids eager to see their grandparents and of course the favorite farm cat, Blackberry. The weather was remarkably good and so most days were spent outside. The trampoline, though intimidating at first for Austin, became a favorite quickly. They trucked between the fields (where there was pruning to be done, fires to make and holes to fall in), the playground, the trampoline and lest we should forget the hose (because of course it was sooo hot that we needed to be cooled off). Grandma and Auntie Corrina joined us for some swimming at the pool which was a good time.
Grandma and Grandpa were such good sports to watch the kids and let them roast marshmallows and hot dogs. So many things that are unique to their time on the island.
Austin and Justin are such great pals. Justin can go a little overboard in his enthusiasm and Austin is sure vocal and lets him know it. But otherwise they are like two peas in a pod.
Madeleine is on her first soccer team and is so excited about it. She is such a good sport and has such a good attitude. She has two games a week. Her second one this week was played in the rain and snow...her team and one other stayed to play at least 6 other teams cancelled. You should have seen her shiver but smile as she ran after the ball.
Her coach, and the girls on the team, seem to be nice and have good attitudes. All of this is so perfect for a beginner soccer player like Madeleine. She'll have lots of fun!
This is Justin's team and coach. He plays indoor again (this is his third time playing). He is a real natural and just loves to be out there with the other boys. He is such a good sport and follows after his mother with his hot red face. I look like a strawberry after only a few short minutes of any kind of exercise.
