Eric took the kids to Castle Mountain, two times, to take ski lessons and try their hand at down hill skiing. The kids really enjoyed it. Unfortunately on the second trip Madeleine fell and skidded on ice leaving bad burns on her face. Burns which would take months to heal.
Ice Skating is a part of the school curriculum and occurs a few times during the winter season. I managed to take all four, and sometimes more, out on Saturdays for some extra time. Skating doesn't seem to come naturally to any of them. They have fun though.
